Sagola 4600 Xtreme: Exploring Air Caps & Needle Nozzles
Selecting the right air cap and needle nozzle for your Sagola 4600 can seem complex. Let us help you determine the proper air cap for your new Sagola 4600.
The Sagola 4600 series offers a range of air caps and needle nozzle sizes that allow you to use the gun for whatever your desired application may be. Below we cover each air cap individually and what needle nozzles work great with it!

Aqua Air Cap
The Aqua Air Cap is particularly adept for applications that require fast action and perfect color matching. It’s ideal for waterborne and solvent basecoats, coming in needle and nozzle sizes of 1.20mm, 1.25mm, 1.30mm, and 1.35mm.
The 1.20mm and 1.25mm variants are perfect for waterborne basecoats in wet and dry conditions respectively, while the 1.30mm and 1.35mm excel with solvent basecoats. All these function optimally at a working pressure range of 1.8 – 2.0bar (26 – 29psi) and air consumption of 280LPM (9.88CFM), with output flows and fan widths varying slightly.

Clear Air Cap
The Clear Air Cap is excellent for extremely fast application and is ideal for clearcoats and OEM finishes. It has needle and nozzle sizes ranging from 1.20mm to 1.40mm.
The 1.20mm and 1.25mm are ideal for Express Drying Clearcoats and HS Clearcoats, while the 1.30mm is perfect for HS and UHS Clearcoats. The 1.35mm and 1.40mm variants are optimal for Single Stage, Wet on Wet Primers, and Industrial Finishes. They function at a slightly higher working pressure range than the Aqua Air Cap, at 2.0 – 2.5bar (29 – 36psi).

HVLP Air Cap
The HVLP Air Cap offers a high volume, low-pressure performance, ideal for waterborne and solvent-based base coats. Its needle and nozzle sizes range from 1.20mm to 1.40mm.
The 1.20mm and 1.25mm are best used for waterborne basecoats under wet and dry conditions, respectively, whereas the 1.30mm to 1.40mm are suited for solvent basecoats. The HVLP air cap provides high air consumption of 450LPM (15.89CFM) at a working pressure range of 1.8 – 2.0bar (26 – 29psi).

Titania Air Cap
The Titania Air Cap represents the highest level of atomization available, making it the choice for clearcoats and gloss finishes. This air cap is used primarily for show finishes, with needle and nozzle sizes ranging from 1.20mm to 1.35mm.
The 1.20mm and 1.25mm are ideal for Express Drying Clearcoats, while the 1.30mm is suited for HS and UHS Clearcoats. The 1.35mm variant performs excellently with Single Stage finishes. These operate at a working pressure of 2.0 – 2.2bar (29 – 32psi), with the 1.35mm variant consuming slightly less air at 310LPM (10.95CFM).

In conclusion, each air cap and needle nozzle combination offers unique benefits tailored to specific tasks. Whether you need the fast application of the Aqua Air Cap, the extreme speed of the Clear Air Cap, the low-pressure performance of the HVLP, or the atomization and gloss prowess of the Titania, the Sagola 4600 series has the perfect option for you. The choice ultimately depends on the type of work you intend to perform, and we hope this breakdown has made that choice a little easier for you.
